INEOS Automotive has launched the Grenadier Commercial in the UK, a customized 4X4 that enables buyers to reclaim VAT and receive lower benefit in kind (BIK) tax rates. Our partners, Great British Motor Shows, did an initial preview of this vehicle generated excitement among Defender enthusiasts. It boasts a carefully crafted design, with a focus on both functionality and comfort rather than simply being utilitarian.

The newest addition to the Grenadier model line-up is the Commercial version, which takes the place of the previous two-seat Utility Wagon. Geared towards professional applications, this vehicle features a full-length flat floor and durable cargo barrier that divides the front seats. It has the ability to transport a standard 1,200mm x 800mm Euro pallet and is equipped with a braked 3.5-tonne towing capacity, as well as over 2,000 litres of load space. Additionally, it boasts a robust 5.5-tonne winch for self-recovery or aiding other vehicles.

The defining features of the Grenadier Commercial that qualify it for VAT exemption are its aluminium panel replacements for the rear passenger windows, blacked out glazing on its 30:70 split rear doors, and permanent disabling of chassis mounting points to prevent the installation of a second row of seats.

According to George Ratcliffe, Commercial Director at INEOS Automotive, UK customers have been requesting this addition to our model line-up since its launch in 2022. As a result, we are pleased to offer it promptly. Additionally, he mentions the flexibility of the Grenadier platform, allowing us to make these modifications without compromising driving performance or off-road capabilities.

Combining bold British style and meticulous German engineering, the INEOS Grenadier is an ideal choice for those in search of a dependable vehicle with top-notch features. Its base includes a sturdy chassis with solid beam axles, a two-speed transfer case, and the potential for three locking differentials. And powering it all is a finely-tuned BMW 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine, offered in both gasoline and diesel versions for maximum capability.

INEOS Automotive acquired the Hambach manufacturing plant in France from Mercedes-Benz in January 2021, where construction of the Grenadier Commercial will take place. The conversion process, carried out by EDC Limited, will be overseen by their team of engineering experts located in Pontypool, UK.
